Refund policy
This Returns & Exchange Policy is incorporated into and governed by the Parts2Drive Terms of Service. On the subjects of return eligibility, fees, timelines, and procedures, this Policy controls. In all other respects the Terms of Service control except where prohibited by law.
1. Quick Summary
- 30-day return window from delivery date.
- Items must be new, unused, uninstalled, and in original packaging with all components.
- A manufacturer Return Goods Authorization (RGA) is required before shipping anything back.
- Store credit: 100% product value, no restocking or processing fees.
- Refund to original payment method: subject to up to a 20% restocking fee (where permitted by law) plus any non-refundable payment-processing fee actually incurred (typically 3–6%).
- Customer pays return shipping unless Parts2Drive or the manufacturer made an error.
- Installed, test-fit, modified, special-order, and custom items are final sale.
IF WE MADE THE MISTAKE, YOU PAY NOTHING. All restocking fees, processing fees, and return shipping charges are waived in full — and refunds are issued to your original payment method at 100% of the amount paid — if we shipped the wrong item, the item arrived damaged or defective and was reported per the Shipping Policy, the item was materially misdescribed, or a manufacturer warranty defect is confirmed. Restocking and processing fees apply only to customer-initiated returns/cancelled orders.
2. Return Eligibility
Items are eligible for return within thirty (30) days of the delivery date only if all of the following apply: the item is new, unused, and uninstalled; it is in its original packaging with all components, hardware, and documentation; it was purchased directly from Parts2Drive; and the manufacturer has approved the return and issued an RGA.
Non-returnable items. The following are generally final sale and non-returnable:
- Installed or test-fit parts, including items mounted, bolted, wired, or temporarily fitted.
- Modified, painted, drilled, cut, trimmed, or otherwise altered items.
- Custom, made-to-order, or special-order items.
- Clearance and closeout products.
- Mounted or road-used wheels and tires.
- Powered or energized electrical components, including light bars, pods, and harnesses that have been connected to a power source.
- Opened or registered tuners, programmers, and software, including items with redeemed license keys.
- Items returned without a valid RGA, or returned after the 30-day window.
- Items missing original packaging, serial labels, or manufacturer barcodes.
Non-conforming or defective items are not subject to these exclusions and are handled under Section 8.
3. Evidence & Condition Inspection
To support return approval, you may be required to provide photographs of: the unopened packaging and seals; the shipping carton and any damage; product labels, part numbers, and serial numbers; and all included components. Where packaging has been opened, photographs must clearly show the item is unused and uninstalled.
Final condition determinations are made by the manufacturer upon inspection. If an item is received in a condition other than as represented — for example, showing installation marks, scratched mounting surfaces, missing hardware, or energized electrical contacts — the manufacturer may reduce or deny the credit. In that event we will notify you and offer to return the item to you at your expense, or dispose of it at your direction.
4. Refund Options & Fees
Store Credit — recommended. Store credit is issued at 100% of the product value with no restocking fee and no processing-fee deduction. Store credit is valid for twelve (12) months from issuance, may be applied to any product we sell, and is non-transferable. Store credit is not redeemable for cash except where required by law.
Refund to Original Payment Method. For customer-initiated returns not caused by our error or a manufacturer defect, refunds to the original payment method may be reduced by: (a) a restocking fee of up to 20% of the product price, where permitted by law and where imposed by the manufacturer; and (b) non-refundable third-party payment-processing fees actually incurred, typically 3–6%. Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable.
Fee Disclosure. Restocking and processing fees are disclosed on this page and at checkout prior to purchase. Where a state or jurisdiction prohibits or limits restocking fees, or requires a different refund period or disclosure, we comply with that law and the fee is reduced or waived accordingly.
When All Fees Are Waived. No restocking fee, processing fee, or return shipping charge applies, and refunds are issued in full to the original payment method, where: we shipped an incorrect item; the item arrived damaged or defective and was reported in accordance with the Shipping Policy; the item was materially different from its description; a manufacturer warranty defect is confirmed; or we cancelled the order.
5. Return Process — RGA Required
Step 1. Request an RGA by contacting support@parts2drive.com or 1-888-723-0041 within 30 days of delivery. Include your order number, the part number, the reason for return, photographs where applicable, and your preferred refund method.
Step 2. We submit the request to the manufacturer. Most RGA determinations are returned within 2–5 business days; some manufacturers take longer.
Step 3. Once approved, write the RGA number clearly on the outside of the shipping carton, include your invoice or packing slip inside, and ship only to the address provided in the RGA instructions — which is often a manufacturer warehouse and not our mailing address. Returns sent without an RGA number, or to an address other than the one provided, will be refused and returned to you at your expense.
Step 4. Ship the item within fifteen (15) days of RGA issuance. RGAs expire after this period and must be reissued. Use a trackable, insured shipping method — you are responsible for the item until it is received and inspected by the manufacturer. We are not responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit.
Step 5. Following manufacturer inspection, store credit is issued promptly. Refunds to the original payment method are initiated within 1–2 business days of approval; your financial institution may take an additional 3–10 business days to post the funds. Inspection and processing at the manufacturer typically takes 5–10 business days from receipt.
6. Return Shipping Costs
For customer-initiated returns, you are responsible for return shipping. For returns caused by our error, a manufacturer defect, or shipping damage, we provide a prepaid return label or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs.
Freight and oversized items. Returns of LTL freight or oversized items require freight-specific return authorization and may incur substantially higher return shipping costs, which are quoted before the return is authorized. Do not arrange your own freight return without written approval.
7. Exchanges
Direct exchanges are not offered. To exchange an item, return the original product for store credit and place a new order for the item you want. This approach is faster than a traditional exchange because your replacement ships immediately rather than waiting for the return to be received and inspected.
If Parts2Drive shipped the wrong item, we will expedite a replacement at no additional cost and provide a prepaid return label for the incorrect item.
8. Defective, Damaged & Warranty Items
Dead on arrival and shipping damage. Report visible shipping damage within 48 hours of delivery and concealed damage or shortages within 5 business days, in accordance with the Shipping Policy. Do not install a damaged or defective item — installation may void the claim.
Warranty defects. Products are covered exclusively by the manufacturer’s warranty. Defects discovered after the 30-day return window are handled as warranty claims, administered by the manufacturer, and are subject to the manufacturer’s determination, timelines, and remedies — which may be repair, replacement, or credit at the manufacturer’s election. We will assist in filing and tracking warranty claims. See our Warranty & Consumer Rights Overview.
Confirmed defects and shipping damage are not subject to restocking or processing fees.
9. Order Cancellations
Before shipment. Orders may be cancelled for a full refund. If our payment processor does not return its fee to us and you elect a refund to your original payment method, the actual non-refundable fee (typically 3–6%) may be deducted; electing store credit avoids this deduction.
After shipment. Once an order has shipped it cannot be cancelled and is treated as a return, subject to the applicable fees in Section 4. Refusing delivery does not avoid these fees and may incur additional return-freight charges.
Special-order and custom items. These may not be cancelled once placed with the manufacturer. We will tell you at the time of the cancellation request whether the manufacturer will accept it.
10. Refused & Undeliverable Shipments
Shipments refused without authorization or returned as undeliverable due to an incorrect or incomplete address, are treated as customer-initiated returns and are subject to restocking fees, processing fees, original outbound shipping costs, and return-freight charges. See the Shipping Policy regarding address accuracy.
11. State-Specific Rights
Certain states provide consumers with additional or different return and refund rights, including required disclosure of refund policies and limits on restocking fees. Where applicable state law provides greater rights than this Policy, that law controls and we will honor it. Florida law requires conspicuous posting of refund policies; this Policy is posted on our website and linked in the site footer and at checkout.
12. Abuse of Return Privileges
Return privileges are extended in good faith. Repeated returns, returns of installed or used product, false defect claims, and other conduct described in our Abuse, Fraud & Chargeback Policy may result in limitation or revocation of return privileges and other account actions.
13. Disputes
If you disagree with a return determination, contact us first at support@parts2drive.com — most disagreements are resolved directly, and we would rather solve the problem than dispute it. Consistent with the Terms of Service, disputes related to returns or refunds are subject to the binding individual arbitration provision, class-action waiver, 30-day arbitration opt-out procedure, and small-claims carve-out in Section 17 of the Terms of Service.
